Saturday 6/12 from 3:30-5:30PM

Please RSVP for location here: link

First, we are excited to announce that WASJA is an official, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and can accept tax deductible contributions! Come to our open membership meeting and find out about what we have been up to, and share your ideas for the coming year. The membership meeting will be followed by an event to honor Pride Month, with speaker Connor Barush on gender identity and LGBTQ issues. Specifically, Connor will introduce some basic terms and concepts to enhance understanding of transgender and non-binary people and also provide techniques to demonstrate support.

Connor is an Alumni of Boston University Law School and Harvard College, and currently works as a public defender. He has focused his experience on litigating cases for LGBTQ+ clients and families. He is a member of the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar association, and served on the board and as a co-chair in the past. He has also served as a member of the MA Transgender Political Coalition, the Harvard Transgender Task Force, and the Harvard Bisexual, Gay, Lesbien, and Transgender Alliance. His resume is brimming with accomplishments related to advocacy for the rights and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ population, as well as individuals living with HIV.

We hope to see you all there!
